Art Funded by you

Waldella, Dundee

David Batchelor, 2009–2010

Waldella, Dundee was commissioned from a series of works with strings of lights which illuminate plastic containers. This work is a hanging cluster of 250 brightly coloured plastic bottles hanging from a single point in the roof structure on a thick rope of electric flex. The vertical character of the work will emphasise the 3 storey height of the newly redeveloped McManus. Visitors will encounter different sections of the work at different levels of the building and the work will look different at different times of day.
