Auerbach moved to his first studio in Camden Town, North London, in 1954 and has painted there ever since.
His subjects include portraits and urban landscapes of the surrounding area. Mornington Crescent is located nearby, between Camden and King's Cross. The bright palette and vibrant, energetic style of this recent work contrast with his earlier paintings, known for their heavy impasto and earthy colours.
