Join Poet Laureate Simon Armitage for an unmissable poetry reading in Grasmere.
Join Poet Laureate Simon Armitage for an unmissable poetry reading in Grasmere. The event will take place in St Oswald's Church, a medieval church on a 7th century site – only a stone’s throw away from Dove Cottage, where former Poet Laureate William Wordsworth wrote some of his greatest poetry.
Simon Armitage is Professor of Poetry at the University of Leeds. A recipient of numerous prizes and awards, his collections of poetry include The Unaccompanied (2017), Sandettie Light Vessel Automatic (2019), Magnetic Field (2020), and Never Good with Horses (2023), the first-ever collection of his lyric output.
There will be a book signing following the reading, with copies of Simon Armitage’s books on sale (cash or card).
