Halloween Folk Tales with Taffy Thomas, First Storytelling Laureate

28 October 2024
11:00-12:30 & 14:00-15:30
£10

Join us at The Armitt for some old Halloween tales and crafts with Taffy Thomas

The growth in Halloween celebrations in recent years has been influenced by American horror films and trick or treating. UK Storyteller Laureate Taffy Thomas MBE knows that traditionally the British Halloween is a much gentler affair, coinciding with harvest and home celebrations. Whilst his event will include tales of spooks, witches and ogres, there will also be games and craft activities featuring apples, turnips and ghosties. Folk of all ages will leave with smiles on their faces.

For his event at The Armitt on Monday 28th October, fancy dress is encouraged and expect to hear stories of the Ghost of Grasmere Gables, the Magic Orchard, and the Princess, the Ogre and the Star Apple.
