Join us for a warm and soulful evening with the incredible Dekel, sharing her heartfelt music live in our synagogue!

Dekel is a singer-songwriter, whose music spans various eclectic genres, from folky jazz to indie alternative.

During her show at Manchester Jewish Museum, together with her band, Dekel will be performing songs from her new album ‘Starlings’. Though she began writing “Starlings” in September 2023, the tragic events of October 7th and their aftermath forced her to pause the project. When she returned to it a month later, Dekel says it felt like starting from scratch:

“I was changing the whole approach and the DNA of the project. I’m always trying to create an accurate musical signature, I try to have a clear focus, it means a lot to me to work and present music in this way. On this album I feel I managed to do that in a very deep way through the lyrics, melodies and the overall essence.” Featuring cello, accordion, acoustic guitar, clarinet, Dekel’s songs are beautifully sculpted and inspired by her Jewish spiritual world. The music is vibrant yet gentle.

Dekel grew up in Haifa overlooked by the evergreen Mount Carmel and attended the prestigious Beit Zvi performing art school. She currently lives between Tel Aviv and London. Her previous releases include Last of Songs (2014), Hello (2018) and Desert Moon (2023).
