Online Curator Talk: In the Footsteps of Frederic Leighton

19 March 2025
6:30pm-7:30pm
£10

Exploring the curatorial research and detective work used to identify the locations of Leighton's landscapes.

Research for the exhibition Leighton and Landscape: Impressions from Nature included extensive detective work to identify the precise location of the ambiguous views that Leighton selected to paint on his travels across Europe, South West Asia and North Africa. Utilising the full resources of the internet has provided much new information and established the inaccuracy of many of the existing titles of the works.

Join Senior Curator, Daniel Robbins, for this online talk describing the process involved and how it has lead to a fuller understanding of Frederic Leighton’s travels and interests.
