This Easter, escape the hustle and immerse yourself in the magical setting of Horace Walpole’s “little gothic castle”
This Easter, escape the hustle and immerse yourself in the magical setting of Horace Walpole’s “little gothic castle” at Strawberry Hill House, nestled in beautiful gardens in Twickenham. The house will be open Saturday to Wednesday, 11am–4pm, with the gardens and café open daily from 9am–4pm. We’ll also be open across the Easter Weekend (Friday 18 – Monday 21 April).
Our latest lost treasure, the exquisite Lavinia Fontana Miniature, will be on display until 23 April. Don’t miss your chance to see it up close and discover the story of its return.
Throughout the Easter holiday, children can join our Easter Garden Trail to search for Horace’s ‘Lost Treasures’ hidden around the grounds. Trail maps are £2 from the Garden Café – complete the trail for a chocolatey prize!
Inside, the Children's Easter House Trail invites kids to spot birds, flowers and insects in the stained glass windows. Children under 6 go free; ages 6–16 enjoy discounted entry.
In the gardens, enjoy hopscotch, dens, a woodland trail, and a special photo frame for your own #portraitselfie.
End your visit with a light lunch or pre-booked afternoon tea in the Garden Café.
