A Look Club return visit to one of our favourite art museums - The New Art Gallery Walsall - for a tour of exhibitions and displays, followed by an art appreciation session exploring a Turner masterpiece!
Learning and Engagement Manager Alex Jolly will be showing us around the exhibitions: JOY, in the community gallery, and Earthbound, as well as the Landscape room in the main collection.
Following lunch in the on-site Costa, we'll be enjoying exclusive behind-the-scenes access to the paintings store for our art appreciation session, which will examine the New Art Gallery's Monet masterpiece, Le Chemin Creux dans la Falaise à Varengeville (The Sunken Road in the Cliff at Varengeville), 1882.
10.45am – arrival
11am – Welcome from Alex Jolly. Tour of the Garman Ryan Collection, plus exhibitions The Outside In: National Open Exhibition and Assembly
12.40pm – Lunch
1.30pm – Art Appreciation session: Monet's The Sunken Road in the Cliff at Varengeville
2pm - Time to explore collection further if desired
