A site-specific willow installation enveloping the historic Chapel space at Yorkshire Sculpture Park
Laura Ellen Bacon’s striking woven installation transforms the Chapel at Yorkshire Sculpture Park into a tactile, immersive experience. Crafted entirely from willow, the work invites visitors to move through and around it, enveloped by its organic forms. Bacon’s process – a blend of traditional craft and sculptural innovation – creates structures that seem both delicate and powerful, recalling natural habitats and human touch.
Known for her large-scale commissions, she has exhibited at venues including Somerset House and Chatsworth. This atmospheric installation encourages visitors to reflect on the interplay between material, space and the passage of time.
