The beautifully restored Tudor Manor House at Bramall Hall is one of the finest of its kind in Cheshire.

Boasting a rich history dating back to the medieval period, today Bramall Hall serves as a family friendly museum, offering visitors a glimpse into the lives of its past residents and the building’s changing architectural styles over the centuries.

A walk through time

Explore the grand rooms, including the Great Hall, and discover architectural details that reflect different eras. Highlights include 16th-century wall paintings, a striking Elizabethan plaster ceiling, the Victorian kitchens and servants' quarters, and Arts and Craft inspired decor.

A storied past

The Davenports were the first residents of the black and white timber-framed Tudor manor house, followed by the Nevilles in Victorian times. The museum delves into the history of these families, showcasing portraits, furniture, and other objects that belonged to them, providing a fascinating insight into the domestic lives of those who called Bramall Hall home, and the staff who kept the household running smoothly.

Picturesque parkland

Bramall Hall is surrounded by 70 acres of parkland, designed in the Victorian Romantic style, landscaped gardens lead to ancient woodland offering a tranquil escape with wildlife walks, charming brooks and serene lakes.

Whether you're interested in history or simply seeking a relaxing stroll amidst nature, Stockport's Bramall Hall and its parkland offer a delightful experience for visitors of all ages.
