The museum offers a fascinating journey into the world of fine china. Established in 1967, the museum showcases the rich heritage of Coalport, a village renowned for its exquisite porcelain creations.
China collection
From elaborate vases to hand-painted miniatures, you'll see stunning examples of Coalport and Caughley china. One such piece is the Northumberland Vase, the largest ever made by Coalport.
China production
Interactive exhibits bring the history of china production to life. Learn about the intricate processes involved, from shaping the clay to the firing techniques used to achieve the perfect finish. Explore the museum's recreated workshops and kilns, see demonstrations of ceramic making & decorating and talk to experts about the different techniques.
Hands-on fun for families
Head to the Family Gallery for fun activities for all ages. Children can take part in the engaging Tea Cup Trail, a fun activity that leads them on a discovery tour through the exhibits.

A part of Ironbridge
Coalport China Museum is one of ten museum sites within the Ironbridge Gorge World UNESCO Heritage Site telling the story of the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution.
