The Kingston History Centre tells the story of Kingston upon Thames over 800 years with local books, maps and newspapers, photographs and oral histories.

Are you inspired by television shows like A House Through Time or Who Do You Think You Are? Then Kingston History Centre might be the place for you. Housed within the historic Guildhall building, the centre serves as the local library and archive for the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames spanning 800 years.

Whether you're curious about your family lineage or fascinated by the evolution of your local pub, the Kingston History Centre could have the answer within its collection of maps, photographs, films, sound recordings, building plans, newspapers, business records, and historic and modern family records.


A short walk away is Kingston Museum where you can find more of Kingston's local history gems.
