Local history

The museum's collection spans centuries, from prehistoric times to the 20th century. Information panels and artefacts illustrate the historical development of Mold and the surrounding area.

Collection highlights

One of the highlights is a replica of the Mold Gold Cape, a Bronze Age masterpiece of craftsmanship discovered in the town in 1833. The museum also delves into Mold's industrial heritage, showcasing the impact of industries like lead mining and textiles on the town's development.

Writer's rooms

The museum also celebrates local literary figure Daniel Owen, a renowned Welsh novelist. Two rooms recreate his tailors workshop by day and his parlour/study in the evening.
