Opened in 2001, this modern gallery near the city centre boasts a diverse collection that caters to a wide range of interests. Whether you're a history buff, a design enthusiast, or simply looking for a stimulating cultural experience, the Millennium Gallery has lots to offer.

Metalwork collection

The Millennium Gallery houses permanent collections that delve into Sheffield's rich history. Explore the city's renowned metalworking industry, with over 800 examples of the cutlery, flatware and tableware that have made the city famous.

Ruskin connection

The Guild of St George’s Ruskin Collection celebrates the visionary ideas of the Victorian artist and writer, John Ruskin. Ruskin, who established his collection in Sheffield, believed in the positive power of making by hand and the collection reflects this ideology.

Temporary exhibitions

Alongside the permanent collections visitors can enjoy a changing programme of contemporary art and design as well as touring exhibitions from the gallery's partners including Tate, V&A and the National Portrait Gallery.

Café and shop
