One of the country's finest Tudor buildings, Rufford Old Hall is as spectacular today as it was in the days of Shakespeare, who performed here for Sir Thomas Hesketh.

Owned and preserved by the National Trust, Rufford Old Hall is a captivating Tudor manor house nestled in the heart of Lancashire, offering an insight into the lives of the Hesketh family, who resided there for centuries.

Historic Hall

Explore two floors of period rooms, each containing artefacts and furnishings, from carved oak furniture, tapestries, stained glass, and arms and armour. The Great Hall, features a grand open fireplace and stunning oak panelling. The Long Gallery showcases a collection of portraits and decorative items, while the bedrooms offer a glimpse into the private lives of the family.

Picturesque grounds

Wander through the beautifully landscaped gardens, which feature a variety of plant species, squirrel-shaped topiary and resident bees. There is also a paddock nestled alongside the the Leeds and Liverpool Canal.
