Located in Stoke-on-Trent, the heart of the English pottery industry, this museum showcases the region's rich heritage and is also home to the Staffordshire Hoard, one of the most significant Anglo-Saxon archaeological finds in the UK.
Local history
The museum's local history exhibits take you on a journey through the lives of the people of Stoke-on-Trent, from Victorian times to the present day. Step back in time and experience the history of the Potteries region through recreated room settings including a schoolroom, a pub and a chip shop.
Staffordshire Hoard
See the largest Anglo-Saxon treasure hoard ever found in Britain, featuring a stunning collection of gold and silver artefacts. Discovered by a metal detectorist in 2009, the items shine a light on Mercian life in the 7th-century.
‘Fly’ a Spitfire
The Spitfire Gallery showcases a restored Supermarine Spitfire aircraft, a symbol of British aviation during World War II. Book a session on the Spitfire Simulator. Pilot Training is a one to one session with an instructor, whilst Flight School is a 15 minute family-friendly session.
