Travel through time and around the world at Warrington Museum & Art Gallery, one of the oldest municipal museums in the country.

Opened in 1857, much of the quintessential character of the building has been preserved and its original glass cabinets are crammed with treasures from all around the world. The permanent collection includes natural history, geology, ethnology, ceramics, 19th-century British oils and watercolours, and an Egyptian painted coffin from Thebes. Recent temporary exhibitions have featured the work of Banksy, Tracey Emin and Sam Taylor-Wood.
