Regency over-mantle mirror

Unknown artist, 1810

Regency over-mantle mirror in carved gilt frame with fluted pilasters on either side terminating in lion masks over Ionic capitals. The central glass is round and convex and is set in a square background of carved rays to represent a sun in splendour; oblong mirrors on either side are plain. Intended for the Montpellier Rotunda.
