Work No. 370 Balls
Martin Creed, 2004

Creed set out to bring together every different sort of ball he could acquire and allow all 800 of them to roll free for the viewer to interact with. Each ball is different in scale, weight and appearance and each is meant for a different function. Creed has stated that his art is '50% about what I make and 50% about what other people make of it.' In this mobile and chaotic installation, sharing the experience with other people is part of the work.
