Bursaries for Art Fund Curators Programme at Frieze Masters 2023
Deadline to apply: Monday 12 June, 5pm
Sign up to our Museum Bulletin for arts professionals to be the first to hear about new funding opportunities from Art Fund.
Together with Frieze and the National Gallery Subject Specialist Network: European Paintings pre-1900, Art Fund is delighted to offer 10 fully funded places for UK and International curators to attend a two-day programme that explores the dynamic relationship between historical art and contemporary practice.
Please note - we are currently experiencing some technical problems with submissions via the grants portal. With this in mind, we are asking applicants to submit their application using this Word version then submit this directly to the Programmes team.
This year Frieze, with Art Fund support, will bring together a group of five UK-based curators from regional museums, alongside five international counterparts and five National Gallery curatorial fellows and trainees. Working in partnership with the SSN for European Paintings pre-1900 and The National Gallery, the programme aims to bring together a cohort of emerging career curators from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds.
The programme will include:
pre-programme seminar and introduction to the art market session
curatorial introduction and access to The Credit Suisse Exhibition Frans Hals exhibition (The National Gallery)
keynote in-conversation
curators’ workshop
tour of Frieze Masters
Unexpected View at The National Gallery
post programming meeting with the curators
This year's keynote speaker will be Ann Demeester, Director, Kunsthaus Zürich.
