Join us to celebrate Jane Austen's birthday with a guided Jane Austen tour, led by Chief Executive Katie Childs.
“I went up to the Gt. House between three and four, and dawdled away an hour very comfortably” Jane Austen to her sister Cassandra, 13 June, 1814.
On 16 December, we celebrate Jane Austen's 249th birthday, but also the publication of three of her novels – Emma (23 December 1815), Northanger Abbey and Persuasion (20 December 1817).
Join us on a guided tour to find out about Austen's connection to 'The Great House', from the Parkland and Gardens she walked and the table she dined at to the books in brother Edward's Library that she read, and the women writers she was inspired by.
Tickets: £15 (inc. tea or coffee in the Great Hall on arrival. Regency attire warmly welcomed!)
