Set in a nine-storey former warehouse, the centre is the permanent home to Edinburgh's outstanding collection of Scottish art.

Exhibitions of historic and modern photography, contemporary art and design, architecture and the built environment are staged in a rolling programme, ranging from Ansel Adams photographs to Star Wars, and from Michelangelo drawings to innovative contemporary art.

The collection features paintings, drawings, prints and sculpture by Eardley, Fergusson, McTaggart, Paolozzi, Peploe and others.
