Our Lunchtime talks are delivered by staff, students, academics and researchers at the Barber and our wider UoB community.
Our Lunchtime talks are delivered by staff, students, academics and researchers at the Barber and our wider University of Birmingham community. Focused on key works in our exhibitions and collection, the talks take place in the gallery and are an informal and interesting way of looking closely at artwork.
Dr Maddie Hewitson is a Leverhulme Early Career Research Fellow within the Art History Deparment at University of Birmingham. Their Leverhulme fellowship project, titled ‘The First Covenant: understanding the role of the Hebrew Bible in Victorian art’ offers the first sustained analysis of the role the Old Testament played in British visual culture.
