Discover an exhibition that shares the history, spirit and enjoyment of running on the fells.
Discover an exhibition that shares the history, spirit and enjoyment of running on the fells. From the beginnings at Grasmere Sports to ultra and trail running events today, we hope you'll enjoy learning about why we run!
This exhibition has been co-curated with people from the Cumbrian fell running community and is the first of its kind to focus purely on the sport in the county.
Items on display include photographs and videos from The Armitt's collection, local photographers/videographers, runners and organisations. Maps, certificates, trophies, clothing and memorabilia have also been loaned, along with pieces from other museums around the county. There are also interactive elements to the exhibition including adding your picture to our fell run map, watching fell race footage, listening to interviews from legendary runners, and why not have a go on our running game!
