Experience pioneering Brazilian artist Lygia Clark’s first major UK survey
Don't miss the first major UK survey of Brazilian artist Lygia Clark (1920–1988), showcasing works from the 1950s to the early 1970s. This period was marked by Brazil's political upheaval and the rise of the Neo-concrete movement, of which Clark was a pivotal part, alongside artists like Amilcar de Castro and Hélio Oiticica. Neo-concrete artists sought to move beyond the rigid constraints of Concrete art, embracing greater experimentation and viewer interaction.
The exhibition features Clark's paintings, works on paper, her famous Bichos, and other participatory pieces, highlighting her evolution towards involving the viewer in the artistic experience.
